Olivia Newton-John’s Only Daughter Is 40 Now — Rare Photos Trace Chloe Lattanzi’s Life From Little Girl to Singer

Olivia Newton-John spent decades being recognized everywhere she went, yet one role mattered to her beyond the stage and screen: being Chloe Lattanzi’s mother. Born on January 17, 1986, Chloe was Olivia’s only child with her first husband, actor and dancer Matt Lattanzi. Today, at 40, she has followed both parents into entertainment while also becoming one of the most visible guardians of her mother’s legacy. Wikipedia

The family’s RARE PHOTOS tell that story in a particularly intimate way — from Chloe as a little girl between her famous parents to the striking grown woman she is today.

The Daughter Olivia Had Longed For

Olivia met Matt Lattanzi while working on the 1980 musical fantasy Xanadu. Matt was a dancer and actor, and their relationship eventually moved beyond the film set. They married in 1984, and less than two years later Chloe Rose Lattanzi was born in Los Angeles. Wikipedia

For audiences accustomed to seeing Olivia as the dazzling star of Grease, photographs from this period showed another side of her. She could be seen carrying Chloe at premieres, posing alongside Matt and enjoying family life away from the image of Sandy Olsson that had made her internationally famous.

One especially nostalgic photograph from 1991 captures Olivia, Matt and their young daughter together at a movie premiere — a snapshot of the family several years before Olivia and Matt separated. 7NEWS

Chloe Grew Up Looking Toward the Stage

As Chloe became older, it became apparent that she had inherited her parents’ interest in performing.

She pursued both acting and music, appearing in a Melbourne production of Hair in 2002 before developing her own recording career. She also wrote “Can I Trust Your Arms,” which appeared on Olivia’s 2005 album Stronger Than Before. In 2008, Chloe competed on MTV’s Rock the Cradle, ultimately finishing third. Mamamia

Growing up with one of the world’s most recognizable mothers was not always simple. Chloe has spoken publicly about the unusual pressure attached to being the child of someone permanently in the spotlight. Mamamia

Still, music became something mother and daughter could share rather than simply a career Chloe inherited.

The Mother-Daughter Resemblance Fans Noticed

As Chloe entered adulthood, comparisons with both parents followed her. Some fans see Olivia immediately in her expressions and smile, while others have commented that certain features remind them strongly of Matt.

Those comparisons are subjective, of course, but the RARE family photos make it fascinating to see all three together.

The older Chloe became, the more distinctive her own appearance and style became. Her long hair, glamorous makeup and dramatic red-carpet wardrobe created an image quite different from the soft blonde look associated with her mother during the Grease years.

Yet photographs of Olivia and Chloe smiling side by side often reveal an unmistakable familial connection.

Music Eventually Brought Them Together Professionally

Their relationship also produced several musical collaborations.

In 2015, Olivia and Chloe recorded “You Have to Believe,” a reworking connected to Olivia’s Xanadu hit “Magic.” Years later, mother and daughter reunited musically for “Window in the Wall,” released in 2021.

By then their relationship had entered a particularly precious chapter.

During the pandemic, Chloe and Olivia spent extended time together. Chloe later described their closeness, while photographs from those years show them embracing, laughing and posing together with remarkably similar smiles.

Those pictures became considerably more poignant after Olivia’s death.

Newton-John died in August 2022 at age 73 following her long experience with breast cancer. Shortly before her mother’s death, Chloe had shared a photograph of the pair and publicly described Olivia as both her mother and her best friend. 7NEWS

Chloe at 40

Chloe turned 40 on January 17, 2026. Her creative career has continued: in 2024 she released the single “Phoenix,” a song that had particular emotional significance because she had previously shared its demo with Olivia.

She has also remained connected to the causes that mattered deeply to her mother, including Olivia’s Walk for Wellness and the work associated with the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre.

Seen chronologically, the RARE PHOTOS are almost like a family album played at high speed: Chloe as a tiny girl with Olivia and Matt, a young woman beginning her own career, a grown daughter standing proudly beside her mother, and finally the 40-year-old woman carrying pieces of Olivia’s work forward.

She followed her mother’s path into music, but she never became simply “Olivia Newton-John’s daughter.” Four decades after those earliest family photographs were taken, Chloe has built a life and identity of her own — while keeping the bond with the mother she adored very much alive.
