For an entire generation, Lori Loughlin will always be Aunt Becky.
She joined Full House in 1988 as Rebecca Donaldson, eventually becoming Uncle Jesse’s wife and one of the most familiar faces inside the Tanner family’s San Francisco home. Decades later, that television family has remained remarkably close — through reunions, personal milestones and some extremely difficult chapters.
Now Loughlin is back in the public eye, making appearances in 2026 and reconnecting with an audience that first watched her more than 35 years ago.

At 62, Loughlin has been appearing publicly again. In March 2026, she attended the Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s “An Unforgettable Evening” gala at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills. A year earlier, she was photographed smiling at Project Angel Food’s Angel Art fundraiser in Los Angeles.
For fans who remember her from the late 1980s, the photographs are a reminder of just how long Loughlin has been part of television history.
Her career began well before Full House, but Rebecca Donaldson changed everything.
When Aunt Becky joined the Tanner family
Loughlin wasn’t part of the original Full House cast when the sitcom premiered in 1987.
Rebecca arrived during Season 2 as Danny Tanner’s co-host on Wake Up, San Francisco. Her relationship with John Stamos’ Jesse Katsopolis quickly became one of the show’s central romances.
Eventually, Jesse and Becky married and welcomed twins Nicky and Alex.
What started as a recurring character became a major part of the series, and Loughlin remained with Full House until its original run ended in 1995.
The chemistry between the actors wasn’t limited to the screen, either.
Years later, when Netflix brought much of the cast back for Fuller House, Loughlin once again stepped into Aunt Becky’s shoes.
The Tanner family reunited decades later
Fuller House premiered in 2016, more than two decades after viewers originally said goodbye to the Tanner family.
Suddenly, familiar faces were standing together again: Loughlin, Stamos, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber and other members of the show’s extended family.

But Loughlin’s return to the Tanner household would eventually be interrupted.
Her life changed dramatically in 2019
In March 2019, Loughlin and her husband at the time, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, became two of the most recognizable parents implicated in the nationwide college-admissions scandal.
The couple were accused of paying $500,000 to facilitate their two daughters’ admission to the University of Southern California as purported crew recruits.
Loughlin eventually pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. She was sentenced to two months in federal prison, along with a fine, community service and supervised release.
The consequences reached beyond the courtroom.
Her acting career was disrupted, and she was absent from the final season of Fuller House.
For viewers accustomed to seeing Aunt Becky surrounded by the Tanners, her absence was conspicuous.
But the friendships didn’t simply disappear
One of the more striking things about the years that followed was how several of Loughlin’s former castmates continued to speak about her with affection.
John Stamos has discussed their longstanding friendship in interviews, making clear that their relationship extended far beyond playing Jesse and Becky.
Candace Cameron Bure has also publicly expressed affection for her longtime television co-star.
Those connections became particularly meaningful after the Full House cast suffered an enormous loss.
Bob Saget’s death brought the family together again
Bob Saget died unexpectedly in January 2022 at age 65.
For the actors who had spent years portraying a family together, the loss was deeply personal.
Loughlin joined other Full House stars in mourning their friend and former co-star.
The cast released a joint statement describing themselves as a family and saying they would grieve together.
It was a poignant reminder that something unusual had happened during the making of that sitcom.

Today, Loughlin looks very different from the young woman who first appeared beside Danny Tanner on Wake Up, San Francisco.
But the connection to Full House remains.
John Stamos is still Uncle Jesse to millions of viewers. Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin are still remembered as D.J. and Stephanie. Dave Coulier remains Joey. And Loughlin remains Aunt Becky.
The original series ended more than three decades ago, Bob Saget is gone, and every member of the cast has experienced enormous changes in the years since.
Yet photographs of them together still have the peculiar ability to make viewers feel as though almost no time has passed.
